1

Get the ChargePoint app, available for iPhone and Android, and sign up or log in.

2

Use your current location or search in a different area to browse stations. If you see a number in a circle, that’s the total number of charging spots at the location. Click to see individual stations.

Tip
Stations are represented by coloured pins. Green means available, blue means in use and grey means status is not available.
3

Click on any station pin and access station details by clicking the info bar at the bottom of the screen. You can see info like how much it costs to charge, photos of where the stations are and tips from other drivers.

4

Once you’ve picked a charging spot, click the orange car at the bottom of the screen to get directions through your preferred map.

5

If it’s a ChargePoint station, just follow these steps to start charging once you get there.

See how to easy it is to use the ChargePoint app to find stations, see if they’re available and start charging. You can also get notifications when your car has finished charging, track all of your charging history and more.

Charging your electric vehicle (EV) anywhere you go is easy and convenient with ChargePoint. Just create a free ChargePoint account to access hundreds of thousands of charging spots on the ChargePoint network and many partner networks, then use the app to find a charging spot. Once you’re at a charging spot, here’s how to start charging.

How to charge

You have three ways to start a charge:

  1. Tap your phone (signed in to the ChargePoint app) on the station
  2. Tap your ChargePoint card on the station
  3. Tap the orange “Start Charge” button in the station details page in the mobile app

Tip : Use your card or push the “Start Charge” button in the app to use your account with non-ChargePoint stations.

Then .. Push the button on the connector and lift it out of the holster on the station.

Finally .. Plug the connector into your EV to start charging. Check to make sure that your EV is charging.

Tip : Many EVs have an indicator light on the dashboard that shows if the vehicle is charging.

When charging is finished, just unplug and return the connector to the station (hit the stop charging button on the station if you’re fast charging). We’ll send you a receipt by email, and you can view your charging history in Charging Activity in the app.
